A castle is relic of the past. A beautiful building with heavy walls. It's not an easy building to restore. Yet, with every restoration the building became more and more accessible for people with special needs. During the last ten years we added 6 bathrooms with extra facilities. The last improvement being the accessibility of the elevator. Quite a difficult action for a castle with thick walls, sometimes even thicker than one meter. But we are proud of the result. And the elevator now brings you to all the floors of the castle.
Kasteel de Berckt accessible for disabled guests
Now we can also provide an informal ambiance and pleasant accommodation in an historic setting for the disabled and older guests. Also outdoors adjustments have been made. In the rough stone pavement we made accessible pathways in order to make the gardens accessible for wheelchairs and disabled people.
