In former days Beukenhof was a closed capuchin monastery, Ora et Labora: Pray and Work.
Hours and hours were spent with prayer and meditation. Nowadays you can immediately feel the power of the past when a group starts contemplating or practising yoga. They demonstrate a great collective strength of mind.
Despite the renovations Beukenhof is still a place where spiritual groups feel at home. This goes for the yearly Christmas assembly of a Rhodesian Church Group, or the Christian Youth summer camp. But also for the therapy groups that prefer this specific environment for personal growth sessions.
