Together with the kitchen gatehouse this accommodation forms the oldest part of the castle. The name of this apartment originates from the days that a small monastery lived here. At the time the stylish living used to be a chapel. The frescoes in the living room have recently been restored. They symbolise the unspoilt scenery of the environment as it looked like until 50 years ago. In the castle's restaurant you find paintings of the surroundings of the Berckt. For example a triptych painting from about 1800.
When the monks left the castle Saint Bacchus stayed behind and gave his name to a small café. While some have a drink or play a game of cards others will look for peace and serenity in the 'Gentlemen's Club' . And of course nowadays also women are admitted in the 'Gentlemen's Club'.
